the money and run? My husband has hired a prestigious immigration lawyer to help him stay in the US…but he just asked us for another $2000.00 for his travelling expenses because the second circuit court has asked that the lawyer make his arguments in person, which supposedly never happens. I just don’t want to hand over more money if this is going to be a dead end or unnecessary. Is there anyone out there with experience in immigration law that can advise us?
Please, only people who have had experience with immigration law answer. It’s obvious the first two people who answered have no knowledge of immigration law!
Immigration law is quite a bit different than other types of law. For one thing, the reason you are representing a client, most of the time, is to work at keeping the client in the US. If you don’t suceed at your job, then the client is deported to another country and you (the lawyer) has little to fear in regards to being disbarred. Hence my question…..
